When to Say Good-Bye

We never want you to feel like you are solely responsible for deciding when to say goodbye to your beloved pet. If your pet has become lethargic, has lost interest in food, or is experiencing severe pain or mobility issues, we suggest scheduling an appointment. Our team can perform a full exam and help you make the best decision with regard to your pet’s quality of life. We are here to shoulder as much of this burden as you need.

What to Expect

When you have decided it is time to say goodbye, we do our best to provide you with a private, safe, and soothing space where you can be with your pet. You will have as much time as you need together.

Whenever you are ready to proceed, the veterinarian will perform an exam and insert an IV catheter. We will use this catheter to inject a sedative that makes your pet feel extremely calm and sleepy. Once the final medication is administered, your pet will peacefully drift off to sleep as he or she crosses the rainbow bridge.

Sunrise Boulevard Animal Hospital also provides help with burial and cremation arrangements to minimize your stress however we can.

If you think it might be time to say goodbye to your pet, please call us, text us, or request an appointment online using our pet portal or request form.
